Tarzana is a city in the southern portion of the San Fernando Valley. Originally named “Tarzan Ranch” by Edgar Rice Burroughs, resident and author of the famous “Tarzan of the Apes” novel and subsequent franchise, it was eventually renamed Tarzana. 

Today, Tarzana homes for sale are found in a diverse, upper-middle class area that also features some condos and townhomes for sale as well. Tarzana is home to two private country clubs, the award-winning Tarzana Medical Center, its own library, the exclusive gated-community “Mulholland Park”, and a variety of local and “chain” eateries and shops. 

Bordered by Woodland Hills, Encino and Reseda, Tarzana feeds into the Los Angeles Unified School District but also has several well-respected private schools nearby for those who prefer a private education.
